DOUGLAS J. KING, SR.

AKWESASNE – Mr. Douglas Joseph King, Sr., 28, of 191 Racquette Point Road, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his home.

"Dougie Fresh", affectionately known to many as, was born August 6, 1985 in Massena, the son of the late Windell "Dudley" King, Sr. and Dorothy A. Wheeler.  He attended schools at Salmon River and the Sheila Morrison School.

Dougie Fresh was a self-employed entrepreneur who enjoyed working on and restoring cars, riding dirt bike, listening to and making music, boating and wakeboarding. 

He is survived by his companion, Kayla Hopps; his children, Kayianna, age 7; Douglas Jr., age 5; and twins, Kaydince and Kandice, age 3, all at home; his sisters, Crystal King and her companion, Adam Ortiz and Jennifer King, all of Akwesasne; his brother, Windell King, Jr., Akwesasne; his half brother, Tony Koch and his wife, Cassie, of Virginia; three nieces, Phoenix Ortiz and Keesha and Kayla King; and a nephew, Lennon Koch; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Doug was predeceased by his mother on September 13, 2000 and his father on August 20, 2011.

Friends may call at the Kanienkehaka Kanonsesneh Longhouse beginning 6:00 PM Tuesday until the time of the service.  Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery, Akwesasne.
