 PAULINE M. BOOTS

AKWESASNE – Mrs. Pauline M. Boots, 78, of 225 McCumber Road, Cornwall Island, unexpectedly passed Tuesday afternoon, April 15, 2014 at Queensway-Carleton Hospital in Ottawa.

Pauline was born February 29, 1936 in Snye, Quebec, the daughter of the late John and Anna Papineau White and attended schools in the Snye.  On October 29, 1955, she married Jonas Boots.  He predeceased her on October 17, 1996. 

Pauline was a homemaker and dedicated mother to her children.  She was an avid bingo player and truly enjoyed taking rides, making baskets and lacrosse sticks, and shopping – especially at garage sales.  Pauline also loved to go fishing and eating seafood, especially at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.   She was a communicant of St. Regis Catholic Church and a member of the Akwesasne Death Benefits Group.

Pauline is survived by four sons, Kevin Boots of Cornwall Island; Robert Boots of Rooseveltown; Wayne and Karen Boots of Cornwall Island; and Peter and Cindy Boots of Cornwall Island;  five daughters, Sandra Boots of Cornwall Island; Cecelia and Michael Guay of Summerstown; Belva and Dan Garrow of Snye; Darlene and Pete Adams of Snye; Dea Boots and Jackie Smith of Akwesasne; a daughter-in-law, Regina Boots; 33 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Teddy Thompson of Snye; and many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her godchildren, Tina Benedict, Joanie Cole, Ian Thomas and Ricky Thompson; and two brothers-in-law, Phillip Boots and Joe Benedict.

 Pauline was predeceased by three infant children; two sons, Kenneth J. Boots on March 12, 2013 and Ronnie D. Boots on April 23, 2013; three sisters, Shirley Thompson, Agnes Sharrow, and Margaret Edwards; and a brother, Louie White.

Friends called at the home of her daughter, Dea Boots and Jackie Smith, 133 State Route 37, Akwesasne, Saturday, April 19th until a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the St. Regis Catholic Church.   Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Akwesasne Home Support.

Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
