PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER

Annual Salary: HS 08 $38,254.94 - $39,785.14

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Under the direct supervision of the RN/RPN Supervisor, the Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing quality and unique care in all aspects of activities. The PSW contributes to the quality of life of individuals who live at home by promoting their independence, dignity, mobility, personal appearance, comfort and safety.  Personal Support Workers are unregulated health care providers-they work as a member of the health care/service team under the supervision of a regulated health professional or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Personal Support Worker College Certification. Must have current CPR (Basic Rescuer level C) and First Aid Certificate. Must be current with Immunizations, Hepatitis B and Influenza. 

Must be able to lift and transfer residents and able to work under conditions requiring constant standing, walking, bending, and stretching.  Must be willing to work some weekends, holidays, evenings and/or nights in accordance with the scheduling needs of the program. Must adhere to the MCA standards, requirements and the strict principles of confidentiality. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to use personal vehicle during the course of employment.  Mohawk Language an asset.
