Point Moves On To Regional Science Fair

Submitted by Nanci Ransom

Grace Point, the daughter of Laurie Crawford and TJ Point was chosen as one of the four student representatives to attend the regional Science Fair in April. Grace is in 7th grade and attends École Secondaire Publique L'Héritage, in Cornwall.  Her science fair project was to create and test therapeutic food products for diabetics during a natural disasters, emergencies, and hazards.  Grace feels that attention should be made to those in need during a natural disaster, or who are malnourished due to the fact that companies that make the therapeutic food for the World Health Organization oftentimes do not take into consideration diabetics.  In addition to her Science Fair Project, Grace also won for the most audacious project! Congratulations, Grace, for your achievement in the Science Fair and wishing you success in the upcoming Regional Science Fair in April. Grace, who has Type 1 diabetes, has learned that education of children and their families is essential so they can understand what diabetes is and live a healthy and full life.

Good luck to Grace in the United Counties Science Fair on Fri. Apr 5, 2013 and Sat, Apr 6, 2013 at the St. Lawrence Secondary School, 1450 Second St E, Cornwall, ON.
