AMPS Media Release

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police investigated an occurrence of shots fired at a vehicle on the Ice Bridge near St. Regis Island which occurred on the evening of January 27th, 2014. Mitchell Lahache Jocko, age 32 is charged with the following:

Assault With a Weapon, Mischief to Property Endangering Life, Utter Threats, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Careless Use of a Prohibited Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon Committing an Offense, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm Not Authorized, and Possession Contrary to a Prohibition Order, all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. These charges will be heard in Quebec Provincial Court, Valleyfield, Quebec.

On Tuesday, January 28th, 2014, members of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police uniform patrol and the Investigative Team executed a Search Warrant with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactical and Rescue Unit, and the Emergency Response Team at a residence on Kawehnoke. Jocko was arrested at this residence and still remains in custody.
