STORY OF A REZ CAT RESCUE

Desi White is a clerk at the Smoke Stacks store on Rt. 37.  Last year she noticed a skinny stray cat with a tail like a pipe cleaner hanging around the store.  The cat was scared and would run away when Desi came close.  It eventually got tamed and would wait for her every day at 2 p.m., the time she came to the store and fed it.  As the cold weather arrived it became the "store cat" and was named Meow Meow.  A nice couple from Gouverneur adopted it, had it fixed and have been sending pictures regularly.  Meow Meow was thought to be a female but when the vet announced he was a male, he was renamed "Walter Meow Meow." You can see the pictures displayed at the store's entrance as you go in.  Walter Meow-Meow is one lucky cat to have had crossed paths with Desi's big heart.
