A Voice from the Eastern Door

Senior Moments

BY ROSEMARY BONAPARTE

The Casino has now become part of our lives. We don’t just go there to gamble; it’s become a place to socialize. We have gotten to know the people who work there and they have become our friends as well as our relatives.

Last weekend I went over and when I was ready to go home I couldn’t find my token with the number for the coat check. The clerk was very accommodating and he started helping me find my jacket. They have large coat racks that he operates to bring the coats to him. I told him my jacket was beige so we started looking for beige jackets. The first coat he showed me was too small. The next one didn’t have a hood. Then there was a jacket with a hood but it was quilted. The next one was a different style. We were running out of beige coats and he asked if there was anything else I could tell him. I said I was wearing a scarf and it was left with the jacket. He started turning the rack and I saw the scarf coming toward me and said, “There it is!” He brought it around and it was with my scarf all right but it was with my black jacket.
