The host Salmon River boys basketball team jumped out to a 27-16 halftime lead, and scored 24 points in the second half, to record the 51-33 win over St. Lawrence Central in NAC Central Division action.
Sophomore Antoine Domino scored a game high 23 points, including three threes beyond the arc, grabbed five rebounds and had five steals to lead the Shamrocks. Senior Josh Hynes added 11 points, two three pointers, six steals and a rebound. Kason Tarbell pulled down seven boards, notched three steals and chipped in eight points. John Harvey netted four points and five rebounds while Zack Smith (four rebounds) and Jordan Wood (three rebounds) scored two points apiece. Chance Monette rounded out the scoring with one point and three rebounds.
Jayce Lanning and Josh White led the Larries with six points each followed by Devon Young and Nate Arquette with five points apiece. Shane Fuentes tossed though four points while Brad Francis, Brady Simonds and Skyler Burns finished with two points each. Cody Meachum chipped in one point.
Canton 67, SRC 63 (2 OT)
The day after the matchup with SLC the Shamrocks were on the road to the Jerry Hourihan Gym to take on the Canton Golden Bears.
The Shamrocks ran out a 20-10 lead after the first quarter but the Golden Bears slowly worked their way to even the score at the end of the fourth quarter to cause overtime action. Canton outscored the Shamrocks 7-3 in a hard fought double overtime to earn the win 67-63.
Antoine Domino was the leading scorer of the night with 26 points with one three pointer, four rebounds and six steals. Teammate Josh Hynes followed with 16 points and three steals. Kason Tarbell netted nine points, eight rebounds and one steal while Zach Smith grabbed eight rebounds and tallied four points. Justin Bigness tossed through three points, pulled down a rebound and had a steal. Tyler Brooks and Jordan Wood scored two and one respectively.
