On January 10, 2014 the Akwesasne Mohawk Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Cadillac STS west bound on River Road in Tsi Snaihne. The driver accelerated in attempt to flee police, lost control and entered the ditch. Police arrived on scene and found the vehicle to be resting on the roof and emergency crews had to be called to extract the male driver from the vehicle.
