A Voice from the Eastern Door
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne wishes to remind community members that if you received a refusal/denial letter from Collectiva regarding the Quebec Fuel Tax Settlement, you have a period of 60 days from the date of the letter to appeal the decision should you feel you were denied in error.
Community members may be receiving denial letters because they did not provide a proof of residency. Providing Collectiva with your address is not the same as providing proof of residency and applications are considered incomplete if they are missing proof of residency or other required documents. Please review your denial letter carefully to determine which part of your application is incomplete, and respond immediately to Collectiva by letter.
Any denial letters that are not appealed will be final and there will be no other opportunity for you to receive part of the settlement. Please be sure to check your mail and respond immediately to Collectiva if you wish to appeal a decision against you. If you need assistance responding, please contact Admin II/Mohawk Government at 613-575-2348.
