HOME CARE NURSING SUPERVISOR

Annual Salary: RNO2 $69,007.81 - $84,869.50

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Home Support/Home Care Manager, the Home Care Nursing Supervisor has the responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a care plan that provides appropriate services to the patient. The incumbent will supervise and ensure that the Home Care Nurses provide direct and appropriate nursing services. The incumbent advocates on behalf of the patient, family and services providers to coordinate and provide services in accordance with the patients’ plan of care. Incumbent may also have to provide direct patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario and Ordre des infirmieres et infirmiers du Quebec (College of Nurses in Quebec) or be eligible to register for a permit. A minimum of Three (3) years experience in a clinical (hospital) setting. Four (4) years management experience in a relevant area. Current certification in First Aid and CPR.

Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including courses or experience in home care. Skills required in handling a variety of interactions with clients, families, employees and the public. Must be familiar with or proficient in the following computer programs: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends if required. Good teamwork and communication skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.
