Kids Comic-Con Held for National Child Day

Last Wednesday night, the Kanatakon School was the site for the Kids Comic-Con put on by Akwesasne Child and Family Services. The gym was filled with characters as 22 ACFS staff were in costume. Ironman also returned for ACFS and brought Batman with him. This was the first event of the kind for ACFS and it was to celebrate National Child Day. There were a few vendors and lots of prizes. They also had contests including a family costume contest and a comic strip contest.

Participants signed in and got a card called a game pass to fill, which they did by visiting the various booths set up with games. Some of the booths included a candy guessing game from the Foster Recruitment booth, which pointed out that several superheros, including Spiderman, Batman and Superman, were not raised by "traditional" parents, but were adopted or raised by other family members. There was a photo booth, which had a green screen so kids could be digitally put into a movie scene from their characters world. Other games were Star Wars Minute to Win It, Storms Wild Winds and the Walking Dead Ping Pong Challenge. Kids could walk away with prizes just from playing the games, so every kid walked away with a prize.
