A Voice from the Eastern Door
The Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Departments, the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Unit and the three Recreation Centers all received early gifts to kick off the Holiday Season. The Hogansburg Station #1, Tsi Snaihne and the Kawenoke fire stations each received $2,500 in support of the essential service they provide to the Akwesasne Community. Continuing in the holiday spirit of giving, the Akwesasne Communication Society approved a $2,500 donation to the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Unit. As all Akwesasronon know, this community would be in dire straits without the dedicated staff that operate the Ambulance Unit. Last, but not least, the three recreation centers, Tsi Snaihne, Kawenoke, and Kanatakon each received a $500 donation to support their 2013 fundraising efforts. The recreation centers provide community events and activities throughout the year and the Akwesasne Communication Society along with CKON is proud to support their activities.
The Akwesasne Communication Society and the staff of CKON Radio are happy to be able to support these community services and wish each of the organizations a healthy and safe 2014.
