The Little Theatre of Bedford, Indiana, recently put on a performance of "Annie" and the director was Cheri Barnes from Akwesasne. Cheri is the daughter of Berlin Barnes and Veronica Trippany Barnes.
Even more fantastic, the play was so popular the final weekend shows sold out and the theatre added more shows.
One newspaper article said:
Little Theatre of Bedford has added a special performance of "Annie" Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Director Cheri Barnes said all performances sold out last weekend and no tickets are available for this weekend's shows.
"We had so many people calling we just decided Monday to add another night and start taking reservations," she said.
Another newspaper article done on the play told of how the cast shares several family connections:
Director Cheri Barnes said that is one of the reasons she and the cast don't want the show to end.
"After weeks of rehearsals, I thought we'd all be like, 'I'm glad it's done,' but they won't want it to end," she said. "We've celebrated birthdays and had cake together. It's like a big family."
