A Voice from the Eastern Door
On a blustery Sunday afternoon the CATS Spay and Neuter program held its second annual "Strut Your Mutt" at Generations park. The pavilion looked wonderful thanks to the folks from the Partridge House who volunteered, and though it was very cold, many showed up for a great cause.
All the money raised at Strut Your Mutt went to the CATS Spay and Neuter program.
There were several costume contest categories, a 50/50 raffle and a number of baskets and goodies raffled off as well.
Andrea Dugan did a demonstration on the basics of dog training with her dog Thunder, who was very well behaved. Dugan is also involved with the Train a Dog – Save a Warrior Program, which unites wounded warriors suffering with PTSD, with homeless, rescue shelter dogs, who are evaluated and deemed viable, to nurture a healing and rejuvenating bond between the two. This program runs from donations, for more information visit http://www.tadsaw.org.
