Pay Level DS 06 - $41,134.08 - $50,642.15

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager and the Clinical Coordinator, the general purpose of the Case Supervisor/Cultural & Traditional Teacher position is to provide, plan, develop and implement cultural/traditional programs for IATC clientele. The incumbent is responsible for providing shift supervision to ensure client monitoring within the prescribed program plan and delivery of cultural and traditional programming.

The Cultural & Traditional Teacher will assist the clients in understanding their culture and traditions, providing knowledge that will assist adolescents to understand who they are and to feel proud to be Onkwehonwe.

Qualifications:

Completion of a Bachelors Degree in the field of Social Work or related field with 3 years documented supervisory experience and extensive knowledge of native cultural and traditional teachings and methods; OR Two (2) year Social Services Worker certification or related social service discipline with 5 years documented supervisory experience and extensive knowledge of native cultural and traditional teachings and methods; Certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC) is an asset.

The incumbent should have knowledge of adolescent development; knowledge of basic adolescent service concepts; skills in addressing adolescent dysfunctional behaviors, addressing crisis situations, responding to adolescent concerns, and motivating adolescents to change. Knowledge of basic adolescent program care procedures within the concepts of Alcohol/ Drug usage

Knowledge of Case Consultation review team functions including plan assessments, planning, consultation and monitoring. Must have valid drivers’ license and be willing to use personal vehicle during course of employment. Ability to speak the Mohawk language considered an asset.
