The Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club celebrated their 2nd annual Mad Hatter Tea Party on Friday October 4th. The event was planned for mothers and daughters; however that did not stop the boys from joining in on the fun. The ABGC members and their mothers enjoyed a wide variety of cakes, goodies and different types of teas. In keeping with the mad hatter tradition the tent was filled with funky decorations and even funkier guests. Nikaiataa Skidders played a very convincing Cheshire cat, while Steevi King enjoyed being the Queen of Hearts. The most important guest at this delightful gathering was none other then the unforgettable Mad Hatter played by Stevie Ray Adams. Leslie Cook planned and did most of the baking for the event. Her hard work was greatly appreciated by the ABGC members and Staff. The Mad Hatter Tea Party has become a treasured event that the Club members enjoy.
“The Mad Hatter: ‘Have I gone Mad?’
Alice: ‘I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”
