Any non-member who wishes to reside on the Territory of Akwesasne must submit a completed application form for a Residency Permit to the Membership Clerk.
• Any non-member found to be on the Territory of Akwesasne in violation of the law will be charged with trespass.
• Violations of this law are returnable to the Akwesasne Mohawk Court.
• Anyone found guilty under the Akwesasne Residency Law may be subject to a fine up to $5,000.
For copies of the Akwesasne Residency Law, please contact the Akwesasne Justice Department located at the Angus Mitchell Memorial Building, Kana:takon, 613-575-2250.
