This is to inform the community that the following persons have applied for Akwesasne Membership under the Akwesasne Membership Code.
Jordan Johnson age 13, and Kody Johnson age 16 , children of Angela Johnson (Akwesasne).
Veronica Lamb, age 42, daughter of Helena (Jock) Lamb (Akwesasne) and Francis Lamb, a non-Indian.
Courtney White, age 18, daughter of Veronica Lamb and Toby White, a non-Indian.
Johnathon King, age 16 and Clayton King, age 19, children of the late David King (Akwesasne) and Stephanie (Burke) Swenson, a non-Indian.
Carl VanEvery, age 18, Clarence VanEvery, age 17, and Kyrin VanEvery, age 12 children of Bridget (Skidders) Thompson and Carl VanEvery. Also, Keane Skidders, age 13, child of Bridget (Skidders) Thompson.
Marie-Chantal Delormier, age 11, Myles Serge Delormier, age 16 and Logan Angus Delormier, age 15, children of Charles Delormier and Pascale Aubut Delormier, a non-Indian.
Jory Lee Lazore has applied for Akwesasne Membership and a Residency Permit. He is 24 years old, he is the son of Martin Lazore (Akwesasne) and Kristine Almas, a non-Indian.
Sheyanne Summers has applied for renewal of her Residency Permit. She is 22 years old, the daughter of Rhonda King (Akwesasne) and Harlow (Johnson) Homer, Oneida Nation of the Thames.
Community Members have until Friday, September 6, 2013 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above individuals by contacting the Office of Vital Statistics.
At the Akwesasne Membership Board’s July 13 meeting, the Board granted full Akwesasne Membership to Ogadesc Johnson and Francis Ingle. The Board granted probationary membership to Sheila Brown and Chase Benedict. The Board denied the Membership application of Taylor Brown. The Board cancelled the Membership Application of Joel Jocko. The Akwesasne Membership Board granted a one year Residency Permit to Chase Benedict and Katelynn Job-Iserhoff, and renewed the Residency Permits for one year for Skasenneo Shenandoah, Daniel Bruyere and Carmelita Swamp.
Community members wishing to appeal the Membership Board’s decisions on the above applicants have 30 days to appeal to the Council of Elders by contacting the Office of Vital Statistics located at the Cornwall Island Administration Building #3, at (613) 575-2250 ext. 1011.
