MCA Beach Day Celebrating Families At Barnhart Beach

On Thursday, August 15, MCA’s annual Celebrating Families Community Event was held at Barnhart Beach in Massena. The event was to get families together to participate in family activities. With kids being out of school, it gave families the opportunity to have some fun and a meal for free. There were activities that included arts and crafts like friendship bracelets, pinwheels, beaded necklaces and key rings, and coloring. Activities included a parachute activity, volleyball, water balloon toss, relay races, limbo and potato sack races. Bellybuttons the clown was there as well to spread joy by painting faces and making balloon animals. Everyone who attended received a passport with 8 spaces to fill out when they participated in an event, and filling their passport up entitled people be entered into a drawing for prizes. The event was open to the entire community and had a pre-registration of over 100 families.
