Midnight Confetti/ St. Regis Braves Massena Women’s Softball Team would like to thank their sponsors for this year. We would like to thank Midnight Confetti Shop, Valen Timmons and Dave Square for their generous donations.  The team finished the season in 2nd place with 10 wins and 4 losses during the regular season, losing only to Laneuville’s, Massena Savings and Loan and the American Legion. The team played a great weekend of playoff games with 3 wins and 2 losses. The weekend including an exciting game where Midnight Confetti beat out Hilltop Inflatables with the winning hit in extra innings to advance to the championship game by Dawn Smoke, who dedicated her ball season to her sister Sheyene Smoke, who passed away last year. The team also participated in a tournament July 13th and 14th to raise money for local Breast Cancer facilities. The tournament raised over $7,000 which was split between Canton Potsdam and Massena Memorial Hospitals. The team finished as co-champions with a team from Plattsburgh. After fighting their way back from the loser’s bracket playing 6 games back to back on Sunday, Midnight Confetti agreed to take the co-champion title with the team from Plattsburgh after beating them 7-6, rather than playing again with a team suffering from injuries and heat exhaustion.

The team picture taken after the season ending playoffs consists of (back row) Sky Timmons, Mindy Delormier, Tee Bigtree, Danielle Bevins, Lacey Thompson, Jenna Timmons, Valen Timmons, Heather Square, and Jen Perryman. (front row) Dawn Smoke and Kim Cook.  Missing from the photo are Bear Bear Laughing-Wilson, Karen Marashian, Kari Bonaparte and Chrissy Creazzo. Submitted by Jennifer Perryman
