Johanne lets wild flowers that she likes grow in her flower garden. Don’t be afraid to move plants, she said, many will survive it. Johanne has a holding garden where she plants things she’s not sure where to put yet. She also has several plants that are old, including one that is about 60 years old from her mother’s garden.
This is one of Johanne’s favorite spots in her flower garden. This driftwood had several little nooks to plant flowers in.
Along with these great looking tomatoes, there is corn, beans and peas, and potatoes are here and there throughout the Jackson’s yard.
This grape vine goes right up the side of Johanne’s pool. The first 2 years she didn’t get any grapes. She cut it down and it grew back and now she gets big bowls full. She also has several apple trees, a cherry tree and blueberries.

Indian Time visited Johanne Jackson this week. We took a look around her yard at her beautiful flowers and vegetables. We love that people show they care about the land and make it beautiful with flowers. We love that people are working toward food sustainability with a vegetable garden. Thank you for showing us around, Johanne. You sure do have a green thumb!
