Akwesasne Coed Softball Round Up

Mohawk International Raceway (MIR) barely eeked by Rocket Ronnie’s by a final score of 11 – 10 in Akwesasne Co-Ed Softball League Action played Sunday at Frogtown field.

Rocket Ronnie’s got off to a hot start, bringing six runners home in the first inning while holding their opponents to only three. Their next at-bat didn’t live up to their showing from the opening inning, going through five batters with none getting across the plate. When it was MIR’s turn to take up the bat, they narrowed their deficit to two runs.

Inning number four saw MIR grab the bull by the horns and send four runners home; tying the score at nine runs each. Their offensive efforts included a two-run inside-the-park home run. Following a scoreless fifth inning, Rocket Ronnie’s took a one-run lead in the sixth on an inside-the-park solo home run, but their opponents we able to bat in two of their teammates, sealing the deal.

Other games

Thomas Marina dominated the Winos by a tally of 32 – 8 at the American Legion field. St. Regis Rec emerged victorious over Got The Runs at St. Regis Rec field, the final score was 19 – 13. The Bone Crushers came out on top of the Boob Pigs 10 – 5. The Braves – Stingers contest was postponed.
