Nolan Terrance Wrestles at Nation Tournament

Submitted by Alexandra David

FARGO, N.D. - Every year, the nation’s best young wrestlers come together for the world’s largest wrestling competition, the ASICS/Vaughan Junior and Cadet Nationals at the Fargo Dome in Fargo, N.D.This competition produces great stories of champions, many who go on to glory in college wrestling, and ultimately at the World and Olympic levels.

Last week Nolan Terrance became the first Massena wrestler to qualify and attend the US National tournament along with 4,152 other wrestlers who took stage from July 13th-20th in both Cadet and Junior and Women’s divisions from 49 states.

Nolan had a great experience. He won his first two matches in Greco with a tech win by 7 points and a pin in .36 seconds.  He lost his third match and tied his fourth match by points, but lost to criteria.  He lost his two freestyle matches but to have a few wins at that level was amazing. The Fargo tournament has been a tournament like no other, the amount of kids, the fast pace, the talent!!  He has already said at least now I know what to expect for next year.

Nolan is training this week with Team Quebec to prepare for the Canada Games August 2th-9th in Sherbrooke and he also starts football playoffs on Saturday with OVFL Cornwall Wildcats.

Our family would like to thank everyone who bought raffle tickets, who came to our movie event, who said good luck!!! A HUGE thanks to all his sponsors and those who made monetary donations: Big Boy Enterprise, D&T Outdoor Cinemas, Massena Wrestling, Frank and Gretchen Perry, Mamie David, Emily Tarbell, Ann Marie and Andy & Charlotte McDonald, Sesi King, Patty Jo Green and Family, Leanne King and Troy and Robin Mitchell.

 Thanks again!

TEAM NOLAN

Alex (mom), Jason (dad), Mitchell and his #1 Fan Hadley.
