CKON Radio Transmission Leak

Akwesasne – The radio tower that powers CKON Radio experienced some off airtime last week due to a leak in the transmission line. RComm had two employees climb the radio tower to investigate where the leakage was occurring. As luck would have it, they found the leakage right at the top of the tower. To repair the leakage, a new part had to be ordered and should arrive later this week or early next week. With the arrival of the new part, the radio station will again have to go off air so the technicians can replace the part. CKON is advising their radio listening area there will be three other pieces of equipment to be installed over the course of the next couple of months. Switching out old equipment with new equipment requires the radio station to go off air. CKON apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for your patience as broadcasting equipment is updated to make your listening experience better than before. Radio announcers will advise listeners at least one-hour before the station goes off the air.
