PERMANENT FULL-TIME (2 POSITIONS) NATION BUILDING PROCESS
Salary Level: SP 09 $40,798.94 - $44,128.13
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Nation Building Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the Nation Building initiative at Akwesasne.
Qualifications:
University Degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Native Studies, Business Administration or related discipline; with a minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience.
The incumbent must demonstrate excellent analytical skills, oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills. Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft computer software applications is required. Ability to multi-task, work independently as well as be part of a team is critical with this position. Familiarity with a project management approach promoted for the various tasks identified on an annual basis. Knowledge of aboriginal issues, First Nations jurisdictional processes and Canada’s Constitutional Framework and the implications for Akwesasne are considered an asset. Ability to speak the Mohawk language is considered an asset. Must have a “class G” drivers’ license and be willing to use personal vehicle during course of employment.
