Akwesasne Co-Ed Softball League Round-Up

The Akwesasne Co-Ed Softball League’s Bone Crushers got an early lead and walked away the victors over the Winos on Friday, July 12 at Frogtown field.

The Bone Crushers lived up to their name right from the start by sending 10 runners across home plate in the first two innings of play. In that same timeframe, the Winos scored only once.

But that didn’t mean they had given up. They batted in five runs in the third inning while holding their opponent to just one run, which would be the last time the Bone Crushers would score. Sadly for the Winos, it was enough to cement their opponent’s win, although they did send two runners across the plate in the fourth and sixth innings.

Earlier in the week on Sunday, July 7, the Boob Pigs decimated Rocket Ronnie’s 20 – 6. It was an open-and-shut game for the Boob Pigs, who brought in eight unanswered runs in the first stanza of play. Rocket Ronnie’s answered by sending in two runners in the second while holding their opponent scoreless in that inning. They continued the makings of a comeback in the third inning, scoring four times and holding the Boob Pigs to a single run, but their climb back to the top petered out after that. They didn’t score any runs in the next four innings while their opponents sent around three runners in the fourth, four in the fifth, three in the sixth, and one in the game’s final stanza.
