A Voice from the Eastern Door
In the interests of trying to find a resolution to the issue of overdue accounts and collections by National Grid, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe is announcing the presence of National Grid officials in Akwesasne to meet directly with customers in an attempt to resolve past due balances.
Representatives of National Grid will be conducting a customer outreach on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Kateri Hall on Route 37. Anyone who has received a termination notice, or who has past due balances with National Grid should attend this session to learn about payment options. In the past National Grid has worked with community members to resolve arrears and establish a payment plan.
National Grid is also available at 1-800-443-1837 Monday through Friday from 7am to 9pm or Saturdays from 7am to 5pm. National Grid’s Consumer Advocate Team is there to assist any low income or special needs customers by meeting their energy needs through early intervention, crisis bill management, and outreach and education.
National Grid will be resuming field collections for all customers that have received a termination notice. Tribal members that have any past due balances with National Grid are encouraged to contact them to set up payment arrangements to avoid termination of their electrical service.
