SHAYNE ABRAHAM KING

OTTAWA – Mr. Shayne Abraham King, 40, of Majestic Avenue Ottawa, Ontario and formerly of Akwesasne, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home.

Shayne was born August 31, 1972 in Massena, the son of Rudy and Mary Smoke King. He attended school in St. Regis and General Vanier Secondary School in Cornwall.

Shayne utilized the services of the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, where he enjoyed socializing with other First Nation members. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.

He is survived by his children, Dorian and Paulina Gray of Snye; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Danny of Snye; his father, Rudy King of Snye; his paternal grandmother, Clara King of St. Regis; his chosen grandmother, Shirley Jacobs of St. Regis; two brothers, Rudy Ian King of Hogansburg; and Aaron Jacobs of Snye; his godmother, Christina King of Snye; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at the home of his mother and stepfather, 213 McDonald Road, Snye, beginning Monday, July 8, at 5:00 PM until Wednesday at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 11:00 AM at the St. Regis Catholic Church, with Rev. Jerome Pastores, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
