LOWE’S DONATES $41,000 TO AKWESASNE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

Donation to benefit much-needed renovations and playground installation

Akwesasne, NY (July 9, 2013) The Lowe’s Company has generously donated $41,000 to the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club, supporting the ABGC initiative to complete much-needed interior renovations and to complete every club members’ dream: the installation of a brand new playground set. For many years, club members have asked for a playground to be installed on-site, so staff and club members wouldn’t have to leave the club grounds to play on an installed playground set. Lowe’s stepped forward to assist in this initiative taken on by ABGC administration. Come Fall 2013, club members will be treated to a new playground set, as well as some new interior renovations that are in great need of completion.

Donation to benefit field trips and special activities for Club Members

Akwesasne, NY (July 9, 2013) The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program has generously donated $7,000 to support the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club’s field trips and special events/activities for the club members. Each age group is given a field trip, which their Program Assistant and Program Coordinator has planned for them to attend. The field trips and club member eligibility are based on attendance at the club, participation in planned programming, and academic achievement in school. This aspect of programming tends to be popular amongst the club members, as it gives them something to work towards and earn. With the generous support of the Akwesasne Family Wellness Program, the staff at the ABGC will be able to plan an amazing set of interactive field trips for our club members!
