Carol M. St. Ann

Carol M. St. Ann, age 59, of Westville, NY, passed away Tuesday morning, July 2, 2013, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY, with her loving and supportive family by her bedside. She had been a patient there since June 28.

Born in Malone, NY, September 5, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Alden and Teresa Ghostlaw Bashaw. She graduated from Salmon River Central School and also the cosmetology class of BOCES. After high school, Carol worked as a waitress for several area restaurants. She later worked at Tru-Stitch Footwear in Malone and Bombay. She then was employed by Salmon River Central Schools as a bus driver for twenty four years, retiring in 2007.

Carol was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington. She enjoyed gambling at the casino, riding their Harley, bowling, fishing, camping, shopping, and going to flea markets. She truly treasured her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

On August 19, 1978, she was united in marriage to Reid St. Ann at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Covington, NY.

He survives. Along with her husband Reid, she is survived by three sons and a daughter in law, Reid St. Ann, Jr. and his fiancée, Casey Montville of Fort Covington, Ben and Monique St. Ann of Malone and Chad St. Ann and his fiancée, Jacoba Freeman of South Bombay, one brother, Scott Bashaw of Rochester, NY, one sister, Debra Lauzon of Fort Covington, six grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Lawrence J. Bashaw, Sr. and one brother in law, John Lauzon.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, in Fort Covington, with the Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Burial will be in the new St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Covington.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Westville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home of Fort Covington, NY.
