A Voice from the Eastern Door

The Story With CKON

No it’s not your radio, the CKON airwaves have been quiet since about lunchtime on Friday. Remember the power outage on Friday, when the traffic lights in Hogan were out, and it was a four-way stop free-for-all? About that time, a power surge blew out a piece of equipment called the exciter, which has something to do with fuses and the transmitter. The problem is, the part they need is coming from Michigan, which is the closest they could find an exciter. They should be back up soon though. Larry “the Eagle” Edwards said, “If you missed us, we missed you even more,” and Reen Cook said, “I know our listeners have been going through CKON withdrawal, especially our Elders who keep the radio on all day and night.  I feel so bad they missed their classic country shows over the weekend.”
