WARRANT/ WEAPON

Massena, NY - Joshua J. Henderson, 24, of 76 Roosevelt Road, Apt. E, Hogansburg, was picked up by Massena Village police on an arrest warrant charging Henderson with possession of noxious materials, held by Potsdam Village Police on Wednesday on East Orvis Street. Henderson was additionally charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon for a dagger police allegedly saw in his vehicle while taking him into custody on the warrant. Henderson was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS

Massena, NY - Hunter M. Cooke, 18, of Hogansburg, was ticketed by Massena Village police for operation of a vehicle with inadequate headlights at 2:10 a.m. Thursday following a traffic stop on Maple Street.

DWI

Massena, NY - Nolan P. Jacobs, 30, of Hogansburg, was charged by Massena-based state police with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 10:26 a.m. Sunday on the North Racquette River Road in the town of Massena.

DWI

Oswegatchie, NY - Dwight B. Bero, 25, of 212 Helena Road, Hogansburg, was charged by Ogdensburg-based state police with driving while intoxicated, with an alleged BAC of 0.13 percent, following a traffic stop at 4:15 a.m. Saturday on state Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie.

PETIT LARCENY

Potsdam, NY - Richard L. Benedict, 31, of Hogansburg, was charged by Canton-based state police with petit larceny following a shoplifting complaint at 2:59 p.m. Sunday from the Potsdam Walmart.

COMMUNITY ALCOHOL SAFETY AND ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service will be joining other Ontario Police Services with a new campaign called the “Community Alcohol Safety and Enforcement Program”. The campaign promotes public safety and accountability by all license holders to operate in a legal and safe manner.

Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division will also be conducting inspections and enforcement activities to demonstrate prominent visibility and record results especially of “The Big Five” offences: (1) serve a minor, (2) intoxication, (3) permit disorderly behaviour on premise, (4) overcrowding, and (5) after hours service.

In addition to the above, the “Last Drink Program” will also be in effect. These Programs allow officers to investigate establishments where a drunk driver consumed his/her last drink. This allows police to identify trends in our community to further protect our citizens.
