UNLAWFUL POSSESSION MARIJUANA
Helena, NY - Lucas R. Tarbell, 19, of Hogansburg, was charged by Massena-based state police with unlawful possession of marijuana and also ticketed for failure to wear his seatbelt at 8:53 p.m. Thursday on state Route 37C in the town of Brasher.
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
Massena, NY - Charles A. Cook, 41, of 48 Laughing Road, was charged by Massena-based state police with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, petit larceny and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Cook was also charged with operating a vehicle outside restrictions requiring him to have an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he operated. The incident took place at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday.
Cook was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and released under the supervision of the probation department. A temporary order of protection was also signed by the court.
PETIT LARCENY
Massena, NY - Ashton M. Francis, 24, of 381 state Route 37, Hogansburg, was charged by Massena Village police with petit larceny and resisting arrest at 5:54 p.m. Sunday. Francis allegedly shoplifted $594 worth of merchandise from Walmart. She attempted to run from police and was taken into custody in a wooded area near the railroad tracks. She was later released on an appearance ticket.
UNSAFE BACKING
Massena, NY - Nathan A. Chubb, 27, of Route 37, Hogansburg, was ticketed by Massena Village police for unsafe backing at 10:57 a.m. Sunday on Prospect Avenue.
UNLAWFUL POSSESSION
Massena, NY - Carlos A. Rodriguez, 21, of Hogansburg, was charged by Massena-based state police with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was also ticketed for failure to properly signal a turn following a traffic stop at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 131 in the town of Massena.
CANADA DAY TRAFFIC PLAN
Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service would like to advise the residents of the community of the upcoming traffic detours as a result of the Canada Day celebrations. These detours are necessary in order to ensure the safety of the pedestrians attending and leaving the event. These detours will reduce the interaction between vehicles and pedestrians and therefore reduce the risk or injuries to anyone. Several police officers will assist in redirecting traffic in order to improve the flow of traffic at the end of the event.
The following detours will be implemented at 9:45 p.m:
Eastbound traffic on Water Street West will be re-directed northbound on York Street.
Southbound traffic on Augustus Street will be re-directed westbound on Water Street West.
Southbound traffic on Pitt Street will re-directed westbound on Water Street.
Northbound traffic from the Civic Complex will be able to continue north or turn right and go east. No left turn onto Water Street East.
Southbound traffic from the Cornwall Square will not be permitted.
Westbound traffic on Water Street East will be re-directed north on Sydney Street.
Westbound traffic on Water Street East will be re-directed northbound on Adolphus Street.
Please be reminded that parking restrictions will be enforced in order to ensure that emergency services have access to the site at all times in the event of an emergency. All vehicles found in contravention of the parking by-law, will be subject to fines and towing at the owner’s expense.
