Barbara L. Montour Elected NYSSCPA Director-at-Large

NEW YORK, N.Y. (June 7, 2013) – The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA.org) installed Barbara L. Montour, CPA, of Akwesasne, as a director-at-large at its 116th Annual Election Dinner and Meeting held at the New York Marriott Marquis on May 16. Montour is the chief financial officer of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe in Akwesasne.

Montour joined the NYSSCPA in 2006. Her term as a director-at-large is for three years and begins on June 1, 2013. She is the past secretary of the NYSSCPA’s Political Action Committee, CPA PAC. She is a member of the NYSSCPA’s Adirondack Chapter and is a current member of its Executive Board as the immediate past president. Also, Montour is a past Adirondack Chapter president and vice president as well as the past chair of the chapter’s Young CPAs Committee.

Montour earned her bachelor of science degree in accounting from SUNY Plattsburgh. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The NYSSCPA installed a total of 16 new members to its Board of Directors at Thursday’s dinner, including Deutsche Bank Director J. Michael Kirkland, CPA, as president.
