Dear Monica,

Can you suggest any online coupon saving websites?

Thanks,

Enska Penny Pincher

Dear Enska Penny Pincher,

Don’t forget our local library in Akwesasne also provides clipped coupons.  For the items that I purchase the most in our household, I actually go to the manufacturer’s website to find coupons or you can email them and ask for a coupon.  I also go to the Apple App Store on my iOS devices and search for “coupon shopping” or similar, to find mobile apps that help me save money while shopping.  I currently use GeoQpons, Coupons, and Groupon mobile apps.  I also subscribe to, and prefer, mobile apps for coupons because printing out your own coupons can use a lot of ink and paper, while a mobile app coupon can be quickly swiped at the cash register.  If you are enrolled in any education programs be sure to get an official student identification card and an email with an .edu extension because most every business offers student discounts.

Another tactic that a small group of friends can do is to share a membership with a local bulk store and go on a monthly shopping trip together.  It works out well for those that do not have big families and can split a bulk purchase of food and household items.  Herbal Thyme is at 88 Main Street in Massena, and the owner Denise will purchase organic fruits and veggies in bulk at an awesome price when you talk with her to make arrangements.  It’s a great way to stretch your grocery money, maintain health and when you save seeds from the organic fruits and veggies, you can grow them later in your own gardens.

I also search the Internet for the latest and greatest money saving tactics because a new mobile app and website can be discovered every day.

Send your questions about computers and the Internet to [email protected] and I’ll do my best to answer you with future articles.
