SR Boys Lacrosse Team Section 10 Champs

It looked like there could be a major upset bringing an end to Salmon River’s six year undefeated run when number two seeded St. Lawrence Central was leading 7-6 with 8:57 left in the third quarter. Goalie Kobi Johnson came to the rescue several times with some big saves to keep Salmon in the game.

The Class C Championship Crown was on the line and the SR offense rallied together and rattled off six unanswered goals in 11 minutes to seal the 15-8 victory and the Section 10 Title.

Junior attack Kyle Lewis sparked the Shamrock attack with six goals and three assists. Four of the six goals were in the second half of the game. Kason Tarbell logged four goals and one helper and Skylar Thomas added two goals and one assist. Dalston Day chipped in a singleton and set up two.

Cody Burns led the Larries with three goals while Luke Arquette tallied two goals and one assist. Ian Lynch rounded out the scoring with two goals.

Kobi Johnson handled 16 shots for the win while Kody Koscis turned aside eight shots for SLC.

After the game, Section 10 awards were handed out. Section 10 MVP was awarded to SLC’s Baldwin while Salmon River’s Dalton Roundpoint earned Section 10’s All American, which is an award presented by USA Lacrosse. Other individual awards given out went to Massena’s Zach Robert (All Academic), SLC’s Chris Rose (Coach of The Year), Massena’s Bob Davis (Assistant Coach of the Year), Saranac Lake’s Chris Grant (Man of the Year) and Canton’s E.J.
