SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Community Support / Resource Development Unit Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the development and delivery of various primary prevention and community support services and for facilitation of self-help group development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Two (2) year Degree/Diploma in Social or Behavioral Sciences (i.e., Psychology, Law and Security, Criminal Justice, Child & Youth Worker) with one (1) year experience in the social and or prevention services program; must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, along with computer skills. The incumbent must have extensive knowledge of primary prevention approaches to helping; must have extensive knowledge of community development and of the range of methods and techniques that are employed in primary prevention. Knowledge and understanding of the Mohawk culture, language, ceremonies and traditional teachings is considered an asset.
