Notice to the Community:

Throughout the period of March 25, 2013 to April 5, 2013, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Trust Technical Team held a callout to community members to serve as Overseers for the Settlement Trust.

Under the mandate of Mohawk Council Resolution (MCR) 2012-2013 #156A, and in accordance with the Draft Mohawks of Akwesasne Settlement Trust document, “The Overseers shall be a committee of seven (7) Members, appointed by Council, consisting of Elders, Youth and other community leaders, each of whom is capable of providing vision, leadership and guidance advice on traditional knowledge and cultural and spiritual values to be incorporated into the work of the Trustees.”

The following Members have been appointed In Principle to serve as the Overseers to the Mohawks of Akwesasne Settlement Trust, as per MCR 2013/2014 #048.
