SLC Boys Outlast Massena

One comeback outdid another last Wednesday as the St. Lawrence Larries earned a 12-11 NAC win over the Red Raiders at the Mike Nicholas Field.

Halftime saw Massena trailing 5-6, but the Raiders came roaring back with five unanswered goals in the third quarter.

What was Massena’s momentum in the third became the Larries in the fourth quarter. The Raiders led 11-6 with five and a half minutes left in the fourth. SLC grabbed the momentum to score six goals and the Red Raiders couldn’t get it back.

Brenden Broderick and Sako Rourke earned a hat trick and an assist apiece. Nick Henrie tallied a goal and four assists while Jordy Mitchell added two goals and set up one. Rhoades Tarbell (3 assists) and Ross Driscoll scored solo goals and Josh Blair contributed a helper.

For SLC Cody Burns generated four goals and an assist followed by teammate Lukas Arquiette with three goals and a helper. Ian Lynch and Blake Baldwin (1 assist) found the back of the net twice while Marshall Burninghausen connected for another goal and assist. Brody Simonds and Jake Sutton each finished with solo assists.

Kyle Cook was spectacular in the net turning aside 14 saves in the Massena net. Kody Kocsis finished with 17 saves for the Larries.
