Thinking About College? Call Rod Cook and Norma Sunday!

On Thursday night, the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club was the spot for the Akwesasne Seniors and Parents Financial Aid Night. Norma Sunday, Post Secondary Administrator for AMBE and Rod Cook, from the SRMT Higher Education program went step by step through forms such as the FAFSA, TAP and various other types of funding including loans, about which Rod calls Mr. Stafford and Mr. Perkins. If you don’t know what that means and you are planning college, you need to see Rod ASAP! In fact, if you are even thinking a little bit, considering just a smidgen about going to college, call Norma Sunday and Rod Cook.

Rod Cook’s office is one stop shopping for funding, he has the applications for the SRMT Higher Ed Program, NYS Indian Aid, SRMT Educational Trust and so many more.

A date you must remember: JULY 15!! If you plan on going to college in the fall, the application deadlines for the SRMT Higher Ed Program, NYS Indian Aid and the SRMT Educational Trust are all JULY 15. The application deadline for the AMBE Post-Secondary program ran by Norma Sunday is JULY 26. This program is based on need and given on a case-by-case basis.

Did you also know you can apply for as many scholarships as you want? Did you know that the average grade for keeping funding is a 2.0? Rod and Norma can answer these and so many other questions. Deadlines are coming fast and some are passing, so don’t wait any longer.
