Snye Recreation Annual Easter Activities

On Saturday afternoon the doors opened at 1 pm for the Annual Easter Pie Bingo and Adult Bonnet/Cap Contest. Players played 17 games for a chance to win 1 meat pie and 1 fruit pie. Winners of the specials won pies, a fruit basket and $50.00 Hannaford’s gift cards, and the jackpot winner won pies, a fruit basket and a $100.00 Hannaford’s gift card. At intermission we held the Adult Bonnet Contest and the winners were Barb Smoke, Mary Herne and Sarah Mitchell, who all received Wal-Mart gift cards. Thanks to our judges Maggie King, Shelby Bero and Vaughn Sunday. We had a total of 16 registered bonnets.

At 5 pm the doors opened once again to Easter Family Trivia. We had 17 teams entered, teams consisted of 4 members, no more than two adults, and at the end of the night the winners were Chrissy, Pam, Talon and Mikey Jacobs winning $200.00 in Wal-Mart gift cards. In 2nd place were Leonee, Nawen, Cash Mitchell & Gordon Jacobs winning $100.00 in Wal-Mart gift cards, and winning the music round Donna & Tokwas Benedict, Allix Gibson and daughter. Paula Jacobs was the winner of the 50/50, winning $173.00. We had 4 door prize raffles of $50.00 each. The registration fee was a donation towards the Recreation’s 2013 Christmas Enchantment Auction and for each prize brought in the player received a door prize ticket. We also had 10 items in the Auction. Thanks to our Quiz Master Danielle Oakes and DJ Roger Mitchell, to the Scorekeepers Leonard Lazore and Tazz Oakes, and to the Runners and the Concession Stand Workers. Youth golf registration was also taken over the weekend, if you missed registration please contact the Snye Recreation at 613-575-2496 and leave a message. We all had a great time!

On Sunday, the doors opened at 1 pm for the Egg Hunt and the bonnet/cap contest took place at 1:30 pm. We had a total of 45 registered. The winners were 3 & under: Irae’a Lazore, Tieryn Benedict-Brockway, Cavan Thompson; 4-6 year olds: Makayleigh Lafrance, Raydon Lazore, Julia Jackson; 7-11 year olds: Cameron King; Kahrakwas Mitchell, Keeya Capton; 12-17 year olds: Lakeisha Mitchell, Thomas Cook and Jarrod Jackson. All winners received $30.00 Wal-Mart gift cards. A special thanks to our judges who had the toughest jobs, Sheila & Sabrina Adams and Collette Manuel. Promptly at 1:55 the Easter Bunny arrived to lead everyone to the Egg Hunt and in a record time of 7 minutes all eggs were collected. Four participants were lucky enough to find the Easter Coins. Paisley Cook chose the first envelope and was the winner of the Apple Ipad; next Thomas Cook’s envelope contained a $100.00 Wal-Mart gift card, next was Jaylene Johnson whose envelope contained a $100.00 Wal-Mart gift card and our last coin holder received the Nintendo Wii game console, the young lady’s name was not taken. We also chose 12 names from each age category who had a chance to win an Easter basket or gift cards. We had a total of 230 registered egg hunters. The Easter Bunny waved good-bye to everyone and we are sure to see him again next year!

Thanks to all our volunteers who came out to help fill the Easter eggs, helped make pies, clean up, set up tables, put the eggs out and help with registration. These events couldn’t take place without all the help we get from the great group of volunteers at the Recreation Center!
