U.S. BORDER PATROL AGENTS AND TRIBAL POLICE ARREST PAKISTAN NATIONAL

SWANTON, Vt. – On March 13, a national from Pakistan was encountered in Hogansburg, N.Y., by U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Swanton Sector and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police.

Agents from the Massena Border Patrol Station responded to a call for assistance from the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police late Wednesday night near Hogansburg, N.Y. in reference to a suspicious subject the Tribal Police encountered while on patrol near St. Regis Road in the Akwesasne community.

When agents arrived at the location and interviewed the subject, he was determined to be a national from Pakistan who was illegally present in the United States; a violation of 8 USC 1325, Entry without Inspection. The subject was transported to the Massena Border Patrol Station for processing.

Prosecution was approved by the United States Attorney’s Office, Northern District of New York. The subject is currently in federal court proceedings facing the Entry without Inspection violation charge.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON - Marnie Jorgensen, 46 of Akwesasne was arrested on March 13th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on February 26th, 2013 she failed to attend for fingerprints and a warrant was issued. She turned herself in to police and was released to appear in court on April 16th, 2013.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT

Moira, NY - Devan M. Cooke, 18, of Fort Covington, was charged by Malone-based state police with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest. He was charged Thursday when he was at the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police headquarters for an incident that took place July 17 in the town of Moira.
