A Voice from the Eastern Door
By Connie Gerow, 4-H Tribal Mentoring Program
Warm days and cool nights create a perfect storm for a spring delight. Of course this spring delight is Maple Syrup. And, what goes best with Maple Syrup?
On Saturday, March 16th at the Bangor Fire Hall (RT. 11 Bangor) from 4pm to 8pm, the Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H program will be hosting a benefit Pancake Super Supper that will come complete with pancakes, ham, eggs any style, fresh maple syrup, coffee, juice and milk. The cost for this specialty meal will be adults - $7.00; children ages 6-12 will be $5.00; and children under 5 will be FREE!
In conjunction with the Super Supper, a bake sale will be taking place. 4-H families are urged to bring their baked goods by 3pm. Also available for sale will be the homemade donuts from our very own Mr. Art Rankin of Chateaugay, NY. This is one treat you will not want to miss.
In addition, the days leading up to and including the Saturday Super Supper, a bottle drive will be held. A cattle trailer compliments of Jeff and Connie Gerow from Fort Covington will be parked at the Bangor Fire Station for people to drop off their bottles. Spring into spring; clean out your bottles and help the 4-H program.
All proceeds are used to assist 4-H members who wish to attend programs like State Teen Action Rep Retreat (STARR) and June Events (Career Explorations @ Cornell University).
