Brett “The Hitman” Hart Retains Championship Belt

Massena- Approximately a few hundred fans made the trip to the St. Lawrence Centre Arena to witness Brett “The Hitman” Hart defend his MMA Title Belt.

It was an exciting Saturday night in Massena, NY as Champion Brett “The Hitman” Hart took on challenger Bruce Richards for the Kaged Kombat 155 lbs Title Belt.

Brett “The Hitman” Hart, fighting out of D&B Sports in Akwesasne, NY was looking to keep a tight grasp on the Title Belt he had earned in November 2012.

As the 1st round started, both fighters came out strong as they exchanged punches, but Hart got a tight hold on Richards and brought him to the canvas. While down on the canvas, Hart landed a few body punches as Richards pulled Hart close to eliminate any heavy headshots. They continued to exchange shots as time expired.

As the 2nd round began the fighters were well adjusted to each other’s fighting style and came out strong. Richards landed some hard punches on Hart, but Hart just did what he knew best and brought him back to the canvas where he tried to get in position to get a firm grasp on and get him to submit. But Richards had prepared for such a situation and wasn’t going to go down easily as time expired.

As the 3rd round began, the fighters continued to tussle and exchange punches with Hart landing some solid shots. Richards had a slight height advantage on Hart, and used his leverage to bring Hart down to the canvas where he proceeded with a choke, but ran out of time.

As the 4th round began, both fighters were visibly exhausted. Once again, Richards used his leverage to bring Hart to the canvas and try again for the submission, but Hart reversed the hold and gained the dominant position but couldn’t do much and went back to his “Stand-Up” fighting style. As the match proceeded, Hart using his own leverage, lifted Richards off his feet on a few occasions, dropping him to the canvas. Richards, now completely exhausted and in the weak position, couldn’t do much as Hart threw a series of punches and was awarded the TKO.
