Congratulations to the Cornwall Peewee B Typhoons for winning Gold at the West Durham Tournament February 15-17. In round robin action the Typhoons played Nepean falling short in their first game 6-2, winning their next game 4-2 against Durham & tieing their last 1-1 against Gloucester. In semi-final play Cornwall won 5-2 against Durham to advance to the finals in a rematch vs Nepean. An exciting final seen Cornwall take home the Gold in a 2-0 win. Player of the game went to Typhoons goalie Kyra Butlin with the shutout. Tournament points went to Brooklyn Woodside 5 goals, 2 assists, Kaitlyn MacCrimmon 3 goals, 2 assists, Alyssa Trudell 3 goals, 1 assist, Taylor McElligott 1 goal, 4 assists, Taylor Swamp 1 goal, 2 assists & Brittany Hum with 2 assists. Outstanding defence by Alexx Gibeau, Mikaylee Henhawk, Tori Gray & Sara-Michele Tremblay who all contributed 1 assist each.
