A Voice from the Eastern Door
Note of Appreciation
The family of Lawrence (Larry) Michael Garrow would like to thank everyone who helped us at this most sad and difficult time. With the passing of our son and grandson Larry we are most thankful for all prayers, cards, food and monetary donations, words of comfort, hugs and for just being there for us.
Larry had so many friends and relatives that showed us how much he meant to all of us. Thank you so much to the following for all you did:
Mohawk Council Ambulance and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police for attending at the home the night of Larry’s passing. Donaldson’s Funeral Home staff for their professional services, kindness and understanding at the time of our loss.
St. Regis Catholic Church staff for the funeral mass and the use of the Kateri Hall, a special thank you to Sheri Francis and Sr. Mary Christine for participating in the funeral mass.
Toni and Rylee Garrow for doing the readings during mass, Kateri Herne for the music at the funeral, the Smoke girls for the delicious meal after the funeral, St. Regis Recreation for the use of the hall for the meal and for lending us chairs.
To the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe and Mohawk Council of Akwesasne for the beautiful flowers and the generous monetary donations.
CKON radio for the flowers and the kind words about “Hey Man” on the radio from all the Dee Jays
Thank you to all the help in the kitchen at Kateri Hall, especially Raymond Garrow, Annette Armstrong, Cynthia Sawatis, Mona Lauzon and Inez Cook, also to any others who helped. Your work did not go unnoticed. Duane Garrow and Jim Hemlock for the kindness you showed the family, the work you did and errands you ran. Connie Thompson and Dea Boots and family for all the delicious food donated. Connie, your carrot cakes were awesome.
Dan and Belva Garrow for all the work you did, Belva thank you for shopping for Larry’s clothes, your selection was perfect. Larry loved those Yankee jerseys so much.
Pat White and family also Marge Southworth for all the cooking you did and all the time you spent sitting with the family.
Tammy King for making the memory board, your art work is beautiful.
Kristen Bintz for all you have done for Larry and his family, we will always remember you for that and be thankful.
A big Niawen kowa to all the pall bearers: Adam Thompson, Shayne Jackson, Abe Lazore, Derek Terrance, Lenny Garrow, Nathan Southworth and Cory Garrow (honorary).
Thank you so much everyone that made this time a little easier, your acts of kindness were so much appreciated and will not be forgotten. If we forgot to mention anyone it was not intentional, your acts were not unnoticed.
Please keep happy memories of Larry.
Signed,
Sam Oakes Jr.
