This is to inform the community that the following persons have applied for Akwesasne Membership under the Akwesasne Membership Code.
The Akwesasne Membership Board will consider the following criteria to determine if these minor applicants will be granted full Akwesasne Membership under the Membership Code.
a) Whether the applicant was born in the community
b) Commitment to Mohawk culture, traditions, lifestyle, and knowledge of language and customs
c) Individual or family ties to Members of the community
d) Member of a Clan
e) Degree of involvement in the affairs of the community
f) Reasons for wanting to be a member
This is the same criteria that is used for applications for Probationary Membership, as contained in Section 11 of the Akwesasne Membership Code.
Aaron Clay Lamb, age 18, and Carrigan Ashton Lamb, age 16, children of Kellie Jacobs (Akwesasne) and Eugene Lamb, a non-native. Also, Cedar Astrid Jacobs, age 8, child of Kellie Jacobs and Todd LeBlanc, a non-native.
Taylor Lyne Marcellus, age 17, and Jenna Nicole Marcellus, age 13, children of Wendy Jock (Akwesasne) and David Marcellus, a non-native.
Wessley Jacob Salinas, age 18, and Ryan Alexander Salinas, age 8, children of Tamara (Jacobs) Salinas (Akwesasne) and Gerardo Salinas, a non-native.
Anna Elizabeth Kelly, age 18, Abigail Katherine Kelly, age 16, and Benjamin John Kelly, age 13, children of Bruce Kelly (Akwesasne) and Jocelyn (Furnia) Kelly, a non-native.
Furthermore, this is to inform the community that the following persons have applied for Probationary Akwesasne Membership and for permission to reside in the community under a Residency Permit:
Kacey Constance Printup, age 22, daughter of Carla Delorimiere (Akwesasne) and Adam Printup (Onondaga).
Jessie Anne Light, age 19, daughter of Jennifer Light (Akwesasne).
Christopher Merle Montgomery, age 32, son of Mary Sylvester Montgomery (Akwesasne) and Alan Montgomery, a non-native.
Community Members have until Friday, February 1, 2013 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above applicants by contacting the Office of Vital Statistics located at the Cornwall Island Administration Building #3, at (613) 575-2250 ext. 1011.
