Arrest Made in Bomb Threat Case

Akwesasne Territory – On February 17, 2013, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police arrested Charles J. Billings, 20, of Akwesasne, and charged him with one count of Making a Terrorist Threat.   The charge stemmed from an incident that occurred on January 13, 2013, wherein a male caller phoned the police station claiming he had placed a bomb in the Tribal Community building.  A K-9 unit was dispatched to the Tribal Community Building and conducted a sweep of the building with negative results.

Billings was arraigned around 3:00 p.m. at Bombay Town Court, where Judge Smith ordered Billings be sent back to the Sunmount Developmental Disabilities Services Organization. No date has been set for Mr. Billings’ next Court appearance.
