Salmon River Falls To Alexandria 2-1

Fort Covington - The Salmon River Girls Varsity Hockey Team lost a match-up against the Alexandria Purple Ghosts 2-1.

The Salmon River Shamrocks started off the match quickly with a goal by Tewasherake Barnes at 9:32 in the first period. The Purple Ghosts responded with a goal from Jessica Prance with 2:09 left in the first period.

Into the 2nd period Alexandria continued their attempts to score but the Salmon River defense was dominant on keeping them out of the zone.

Entering the 3rd period with the score tied 1-1, both the Shamrocks and Purple Ghosts exchanged shots until Alexandria’s Jessica Prance scored at 13:13 to put Alexandria up 2-1 and collect her second goal of the game.

      Alexandria’s Jessica Prance led the game with 2 goals, while Tewasherake Barnes collected the lone goal for the Shamrocks. Shamrocks’ Becca Leroux kept out 37 shots, while Purple Ghosts’ Samantha Griswold deflected 16 shots.
